DeepMinds Launches National Venture Building Championship to Empower the Next Generation of Builders
Algeria | May 21, 2025 — DeepMinds has officially launched the Venture Building Championship (VBC), a national initiative designed to discover and empower student venture builders from more than 100 universities across Algeria. The initiative aims to inspire and train thousands of students, transforming them into the next generation of venture builders and innovators.
The championship, hosted under the DeepMinds League, a league of many championships powered by DeepMinds, is unlike traditional startup competitions or pitch contests. It simulates the full venture-building journey—from forming teams and identifying real-world problems to building solutions, securing customers, and getting ready for investment. This immersive experience aims to equip over 10,000 students with the skills and knowledge to drive the knowledge economy.
"We don't want students to just dream about startups. We want them to build real ventures that solve real problems, and we're here to back them every step of the way," said Dr. Abdenour Haddou, Managing Partner and CTO of DeepMinds.
The launch of the VBC will take place during the International Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) meeting, marking a significant moment for the initiative. Over the next five months, teams from leading universities will compete through:
- Build & Battle Days (university qualifiers)
- Quarterfinals & Semifinals (regional development sprints)
- A national Final Showdown in October during DeepMinds' flagship event
Finalist teams in the 2025 season will receive prizes, including valuable access to DeepMinds' venture-building local and global clusters and the opportunity to leverage its extensive resources to build and scale their ventures.
With the aim to empower over 10,000 students across Algeria, this initiative is poised to have a lasting impact on the knowledge economy by creating a new wave of builders who will drive the future growth of Algeria and the MENA region through innovative ventures.
